The Air Jordan 5 Low “Doernbecher” is part of this year’s Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 2022 Collection, which was designed by Michael Wilson, an 11-year old with Krabbe disease, a severe neurological condition.
Michael’s Air Jordan 5 Low is inspired by his love for airplanes, sharks, and mac and cheese – which is debossed on the toe and collar as well as a matching dubrae. Other details includes cool interchangeable patches so you can wear it your way and laser eyes under the midfoot mesh nodding to the super power of his choice. It also includes “Take Flight” branding on the lateral, added rear pull tabs, his initials “MDW” on the heels, a colorful liner atop a translucent outsole revealing graphics underneath.
Look for the Air Jordan 5 Low “Doernbecher” to release in the coming weeks at select retailers and Nike.com.
