In addition to the Nike and Converse lineup celebrating the premiere of Space Jam: A New Legacy, there will also be another “Space Jam” sneaker available, but this particular one will come with a hefty price tag.
It’s a player sample of the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” that’s being auctioned off by Sotheby’s. This Air Jordan 11 was made for Michael Jordan to wear in the original 1996 Space Jam film, but this pair was kept unworn. It’s in deadstock condition with yellowed soles in MJ’s size 13 along with his signature on the left shoe in Silver ink. They are offered in a custom wood and velvet box featuring a laser-etched graphic of the Tune Squad logo.
This player sample edition of the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” is up for auction until July 26th. The pair is expected to sell between $150,000 and $200,000 when it closes. Those interested can place a bid here.
UPDATE 7/26: Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 11 “Space Jame” Sample ended up selling for $176,400, which was around the same price they estimated the shoes would sell for prior to the bidding.
