After Air JORDAN XXXIII（AJ33） was released, the FastFit technology has attracted a lot of attention, it takes place of the traditional fastening method. It only needs to pull the nylon tape then it can wrap well the foot. And the visible gear on the shoe sole also became the focus of discussion. In addition, the brand company also release the exclusive Chinese jade color for its spokesperson Ailun Guo.
But Ailun Guo hasn’t worn it on the competitions, but he choose Paul’s signature shoes CP3 XI.
It reflects that Ailun Guo prefer to CP3 XI than AJ33. Why not wearing AJ33 for the competitions? We try to deconstruct AJ33 to solve the puzzle.
To get the complete FastFit lacing system of insole, we stripped the FlightSpeed supporting plate from the insole.
The air cushion under FlightSpeed Supporting plate is visible. It has big ZOOM Air Cushion on forefoot and hexagon ZOOM Air Cushion on heelpiece.

We can see that the FlightSpeed supporting plate make a groove on the place where is near to the arch, the FastFit bobbin is put inside it.

Cutting the left shoe from middle, we kept the complete inwrought shoe tongue and FastFit.
The inner side cross section of left shoe, big ZOOM AIR CUSHION on forefoot, hexagon ZOOM AIR CUSHION on heelpiece. We can see that the FlightSpeed supporting plate is close to the big ZOOM AIR CUSHION of forefoot.
We deconstructed the left shoe to know the working process of the new technology FastFit.
The FastFit technology perfectly combines the cable with shoe body to improve the overall wrapping performance.
Separating the vamp of left shoe from insole
The vamp design is complicated. The air permeability should be not good.
Taking off the vamp, we can see where the cables locate on the vamp
Completely separating the inner sleeve from the insole, the cable run through the insole
EVA material insole fabric can improve the comfort level.
After overturning the insole fabric, we can see that the FastFit gear part is seamed in the reverse side of insole fabric
Pulling the cable from different directions, it can be fastened or loosen. It adds rubber and plastic material pipes on the quick-wearing part.

We have tested AJ33 on basketball gym. After the first half, I already felt hurt. After taking off the shoes, there is a bubble on the arch of foot.
The supporting plate make a square plate on the gear part of arch.
The thickness of square plate is about 14.54mm
The front of FlightSpeed supporting plate can be bent. The square plate structure near to arch part can’t be bend.
Deconstructed Report
Vamp: it’s made of ventilated mesh fabric and inner sleeve. The air permeability is not good. But it’s comfortable. The FastFit technology combines the cables with bandage to improves the wrapping performance. But the cable is too gracile.
Insole: it uses separated ZOOM Air Cushion. The big air cushion on forefoot matching with FlightSpeed supporting plate brings great cushion performance. The thickness of hexagon Zoom Air Cushion on heelpiece is thick enough, but the area is small. So we don’t have obvious feeling. The square plate of FlightSpeed supporting plate on arch part is too thick. The feet is easy to be mangled and blister.
Outsole: The outsole grains have good traction. As the shoe head upwarp and the weight of shoe is too heavy, it’s not suitable for the players who are speed type.
Overall: AIR JORDAN XXXIII PF is a model with advanced design. We can see that the brand company has paid a lot of attention to innovation. The wrapping performance has been improved. The separated ZOOM Air Cushion with FlightSpeed supporting plate, and the lace-up system is great. But it increases the weight of shoe, and the supporting plate is too stiff.
